A TRANQUIL EVENING COMES COATED IN SILENCE , in a waxing moon and the feeble little trails of fluffy clouds hovering above the horizon . sebastian peeks his head out the nearest window to take in the tired sight , just before he shuffles from his room , yawning , intent on pouring a quick glass of water to soothe a sore throat . he shouldn’t be startled to see irene already out there , a singular light source BEAMING upon her as she toils at the kitchen island , but he does stop for a moment , thinking . WORRIED , PERHAPS . they’ve had these encounters before , albeit less frequently , but something seems to be on her mind . even under a single stream of light , sebastian picks up on tension , unease . bare feet pad through the living room and FINALLY JOIN HER , careful not to startle her as he does . ❝ fancy seeing you here . ❞ as her bodyguard , it’s only natural for him to get a faint sense of unease , concerned for her well-being . something must be wrong . ❝ bad dream ? or . . . what keeps you awake ? are you all right ? ❞ although sebastian has only been guarding her for a handful of weeks now , he’d still like to think he’s got a good read on the woman and her tells ( and he’s probably delusional , really ; he’s got no earthly idea what’s going on , but he pretends otherwise ) . ❝ is there something i can do ? i just popped by for a glass of water . . . so if you’d rather be alone , i can go back to my room . ❞
