IEWD 16 is posted!
I'll post the proper chapter here tomorrow but I am very tired and I am going to sleep
Update 7-9-19
hey uh, so burnout got me in a headlock then threw me off a ten story building, so, apologies for my absence over the past couple months!
I'm putting the finishing touches on the next IEWD chapter, making it longer mostly and doing some editing. It should be up later tonight.
I have a few shorts that I'm pretty sure I finished while I was in the middle of a bad flu so I'll make sure those are coherent and get those posted too.
My phone hates me and I'm only just now seeing comment and message notifications so I'll get to those tonight as well.
Again, many apologies for the wait. Hope everyone's had a good summer thus far.

I'm indecisive and I apologize
The next IEWD chapter should be up tonight hopefully. I've rewritten this damn thing like seven times but I think I've settle on a draft now so, many apologies for the wait
So about the ribbons in IEWD: I have lots of questions but one stands out. In ch12, you say Kuroko grabbed several of Kise's ribbons but one was going back toward Kise; and in an earlier chapter (don't remember where) you said Akashi's ribbons were all one color but that one was a different color from the rest. What's with these single ribbons acting independently of the others?
As far as Kise is concerned, I think that’s on me for not being super clear. I believe that part you’re referring to is “ Kise doesn’t say anything but his ribbons betray his curiosity. Kuroko takes hold of several of them, ignoring the fact that one of them keeps trying to wind into Kise’s old anchor point.” This is when Kuroko is showing Kise what it feels like to have access to his ribbons again, toward the end of the chapter.
The ribbon wasn’t going toward Kise, but to Kuroko. There’s been reference to anchors and anchor points throughout the story and those anchor points are on Kuroko. Earlier in the story he mentions those anchors being torn out, something alone those lines, so each of the GoM’s ribbons had a specific point where they connected to Kuroko. This was Kise’s ribbon going toward its old anchor point.
Then, I believe the part about Akashi is in chapter 8 where they’re going to the cave? The stones had an effect on everybody’s ribbons and altered them for the duration that they were within the cave. Kuroko’s said that Akashi’s ribbons were originally a dark red/pink, that then grew darker with streaks of gold, before becoming entirely gold once the sync was broken. So, normally, all of Akashi’s ribbons are gold. In the cave they reverted to the standard red pink, with one ribbons maintaining its solid gold appearance.
As to why: The ribbons are kind of their own entity, as explained in story. They are the raw emotions and desires behind the person they’re attached to. In the case of Kise, Kuroko didn’t grab all of the ribbons, some were were wound around his body or floating at the time. So, those that weren’t directly under Kuroko’s influence acted as they wanted. Since it only took a single ribbon for the anchor, only a single ribbon was acting on its own. The desire at the very heart of Kise’s ribbons is to return to how it was before, when they were synced with Kuroko.
Akashi’s are a little different, as what happened at the cave was directly influenced by magic unrelated to Kuroko. I don’t want to give away what hasn’t already been explained in story and Akashi’s kind of a special case. There will be some things in story that are explained, particularly where he’s concerned so I can’t really say anything yet.
The whole if it is that the ribbons are sentient in the sense that they represent nothing but the unfiltered truth of a person. As such, they may act contradictory to the person, or they may act on the subconscious desires of a person. It varies from case to case, but hopefully this will become clearer as the story progresses. Part of the reason it’s still kind of unclear is that Kuroko is figuring all of this out as he goes
I hope that helped to some degree, thank you for asking!!
