Tom Cruise Returns to Set For Top Gun Sequel and We Feel The Need For Speed

It's been 32 years since we were introduced to Maverick and Goose in the feature film Top Gun. Tom Cruise created the character of Pete "Maverick" Mitchell at age 23 and now at the age of 55, he's returning to the popular role in the sequel, Top Gun: Maverick. In a post on Instagram the actor posted a photo from the movie with the recognizable words "Feel the Need" emblazoned across the photo. In the caption he simply wrote, "Day 1." You can just hear Kenny Loggins singing "Danger Zone" at the mere mention of the movie.  Unfortunately, Goose, played by Anthony Edwards, died in the originals so he probably won't be returning.  According to the Hollywood Reporter, the story is set in the current time and dealing with modern warfare. Maverick, a navy pilot instructor, follows fighter pilots as they grapple with drone technology that is making their old style of flying obsolete. I haven’t seen When Harry Met Sally, or Breakfast at Tiffanys, and I have no idea why people are Sleepless In Seattle. And those are just a few examples of movies that everyone just assumes you’ve seen that I haven’t.

I’m tired of my friends screaming :”YOU HAVEN’T SEEN THAT MOVIE?!” almost every time we have a movie night. So I’m making a list and this year needs to be the year I catch up. Or try to catch up.
