April 20, Poem 20 #poem20 This is National Poetry Month!!!! And this month I am writing a poem every day! The prompt for this one was to write on 'If I rule the world'. #ifiruletheworld I wouldn't like to rule the present world so I created a hypothetical one, stepping into the farthest corners of my imagination to see a world where nothing was as regimented and restricted as this world yet everything was so better and everyone so happy. If I rule the world In my topsy-turvy realm There's no king, there's no queen All are fruits from the same tree No social ranks or divides that demeans. We lounge in mammoth lotus cores And sleep along the starlit shores Dine in gingerbread cottage's long halls And drink from the tall waterfalls We forage with tireless ants all week On Saturdays, we jump with overjoyed monkeys On Sundays, winging and chirping with birds We kiss the tallest giraffes and hug the leopard. When sweaty hot, I make the winds blow hard When freezing cold, I raise the Sun's thermostat I make the rain pour down on dehydrated land And cease the drops when rivers menacingly expand. Here Arctic enjoys warm summer spells And Tropics get plentiful snowfalls The Polar bears play with leafy bamboos And Panda makes a big snow buckaroo. Camels go out dating lionesses And ducks dance with the Koala Frogs go kissing little princesses And Lions go sailing in Venetian Gondola. The short-nosed Pinocchio never lies For Snow white, Queen Grimhilde makes tasty and safe apple-pies Maleficent kisses Aurora Good Morning each day Aladdin never steals , kind Scar never preys. Roses without thorns Cars without bellowing horns A movie with no villain All are heroes here, both men and women. In this topsy-turvy world of ours I rule with might and duty Like every other living soul Who walks this 'Land of true Beauty'.
