19. Which character most fits a character trope? What trope?

Okay, this is tough because I’m still nailing out the characters but Jack is really just a Bad Boy. Like, he ran away from home, his mom left, he has long hair. What more do you need for a Bad Boy? Nothing at all. (I swear he’s interesting too he just fits the trope lol)

24. Which character is most like you? Least like you?

All of my character have parts of me but they’re also really, really unlike me. I’m going to go with my main character from Doorway to Heaven (she doesn’t have a name yet oops) because she’s really inquisitive and always up for challenge but she has lots of underlying negative emotions she needs to sort through, which is something I see in myself.

I think Josie, the ship captain from Pirates, is most unlike me. She’s completely comfortable in her skin and fierce and stubborn about her place on the ship. One thing I share with her is that we’re both protective of the people we care about.

most of my wip/plot inspirations are from daydreams or other works I idolise (land of the lustrous being an example). when it comes to main plot points i just write another part of the story, and if I'm lucky the idea hits me midway. if not I'm usually just doing something or spacing out, and if a good throwaway idea hits me im clinging to it hella hard :p

happy meet and greet monday and happy pride from @ifonlyicouldwrite! to any of your queer characters: when did you first know you were queer? how did you come out to your loved ones?

Evaine: Did you want to go first?

Marcy: Eh. I don’t care. Shoot.

Evaine: Pertaining to knowing that one is queer and “coming out”, it is a complex situation for vampires. From the history that we actually have written, there may have been a time where same sex relationships were looked down upon but even during that time, same sex intimacy was likely to be nothing too alarming.Think about your ancient greeks but even earlier and less… run my men and their servants. The grudge against different “sexual orientations” has been a human issue for a long time now. For us, sexual freedom is so ingrained in our culture that there were no distinct words for different orientations before the last… what, not even a century?

Marcy: I’d say half a century, tops.

Evaine: Hm. I would have to look into that. Apologies if our data is off. For us, it is the simple question of “Does that person arouse you? Do those people arouse you? Do you love them? Do you not?” Honestly, there is more stigma about relationships between vampire classes like purebloods and mixed bloods and out-crosses.

Marcy: Mutts.

Evaine: Says the woman dating one.

Marcy: I call it like it is. And we’re not dating.

Evaine: Just like we’re not?

Marcy: ANYWAY, the point’s that a vampire’s life is long. It’s insane to stick to one gender or one person. It’s just obvious to the point I had to explain to a mutt-

Evaine: A human born, for clarification.

Marcy: -that just because we are intimate doesn’t mean I am theirs. It’s a silly concept. Humans are silly. So there’s no “coming out.” We just grew up like this.

Evaine: By “this”, she means just doing what feels right. For the two of us, we have mostly been using the terms bisexual and polyamorous.

Marcy: I just fuck.

I actually made a spreadhseet of OC characteristics a long time ago and just posted the orientation section here to show off just how queer these characters are. Most of the heterosexuals are human-born.

happy storyteller saturday from @ifonlyicouldwrite! do you have a process for planning out your stories, or do you just go with the flow?

I envision scenes and type them as they come into my head. The most planning I do is creating character bios and getting a general idea of the world it’s going to belong to, to get an idea for like... how the people around them would be and that kinda thing.

Hi @ifonlyicouldwrite! Thanks for the ask!

I’m gonna call my “current” WIP Five Card Draw since I haven’t written anything for Biomech or ieiunus II in months...

I think probably the most interesting character to write is Jack, who is the least stiff of the Suits but still holds the same air of mystery. He can talk to you constantly for hours and you still won’t know anything about him. He’s fun to be around, kind, and loyal, but Prue can tell that at least part of it is a mask. How much of his personality is truly him, and how much of it is put on for his audience? Honestly, I don’t even know yet.

There are two old (abandoned) wips that I can’t find in any of my files anymore; Cyrulias (a high fantasy with a country and magic system similar to avatar) and Hell School (a thriller where a prestigious school was actually a large lab using the ‘underachievers’ for experiments while writing off their disappearances as ‘murders’ or ‘suicides’)

Cyrulias was left to collect dust bc my motivation for the story drained really fast, and the plot line was just really dull imo. Hell School was thrown away bc the story became REALLY convoluted, like ancient powers were getting included and the original story was going from high stakes thriller to cliche battle against G O D.

Ooh this one is gonna focus on the crime world. So there’s an underground black market ring that’s basically international. It sounds like your regular organised crime and stuff, but within it there are multiple groups branching off from Mafia, Yakuza, etc. E.G: Syvil’s ties to the underground are technically Mafia, but he’s actually a part of Belladonna. This is one of the more decently-known branches, but the bigger and more feared groups include Orpheus/Orfeo (a Greek/Italian group), Du Ye (Chinese and viet), and Fujimori.
