One of my favourite things about I forgot you existed is that it's succinct in its message. There's no need for analysis. It ends up j just restating the lyrics of the song in more roundabout ways. It says what it means very clearly.

I’m really excited for “I forgot you existed”

Everyone is talking about how it’s going to be a song where Taylor is throwing shade - and they’re probably right - but as I person who has actually said those words multiple times, it’s possible that the song isn’t as angry or upset as everyone is expecting.

If I say “oh I forgot you existed” or “I forgot he/she/they/it existed” it’s normally because that thing or person hadn’t been in my life for a while and was then suddenly back. Most of the time, I’m happy that the person or thing is back in my life

Idk but thinking about Lover’s aesthetic and vibe so far just makes me think that maybe “I forgot you existed” is about something Taylor missed coming back into her life, not a person she despised trying to use her.
