I took this photo on June 26th 2015 in Jersey City, New Jersey. The same day the Supreme Court ruled same-sex marriage legal nationwide. • • • I wanted to share why I chose to share this picture today. I never post anything very political, controversial, or even serious at that. However since the 2016 election I've seen, heard, and read more offensive and hurtful comments, than ever before in such a short span of time. Also with it being pride month I felt it was a good time to speak up. • I am a member of the LGBTQ community, and I'm proud to say that. As a part of that I have felt discriminated, marginalized, and offended at times. All I and anyone else want is it to taken seriously, treated fairly and with respect. There are many individuals and groups who would like to limit the equal and protective rights of the LGBTQ. What ever reasoning these people have for doing this is just flat out wrong. • I don't want to bring up every issue and argument. I don't believe in the "agree to disagree" or "no political talk" strategies because that doesn't help accomplish anything. The fact of the matter is. If you support a politician or political party, even a family member or friend who has any part in fighting against any LGBTQ issue. Then you're fighting against me. If you disagree or are offended by that then simply unfollow me. • I love being an American and want our country to grow and be as great as it can be. The only way that can ever happen is to accept any and every single person in this country for who they are.
