16/11/15—Got to see Prof. Graetzel in personal in UCD today … He is famous for co-inventing Dye Sensitized solar cell (also called Graetzel cell), a low cost thin film solar cell. His dream has just came true after 20 years of intensive research on solar energy as an alternative to the use of fuels. A huge mass commercial production has been contracted, in which Gratzel cells are now seen as solar panels in some European establishments, electric cars, and even in some personal/local gadgets.
He has also more than 1000 publication with h-index of almost 200, making him as one of the top 10 most cited chemist.
