Just curious what you mean when you say that the books published about the pope's encyclicals were 'gorgeous'? Do you mean what they look like or what they are about?
Yes, I meant that the books just look really cool and that, from a purely aesthetic viewpoint, they are nice additions to the shelves of book collectors like myself.
The publisher, San Francisco's Ignatius Press, almost always publishes books that collectors can appreciate at face value before even considering the content inside of them. The hardcover volumes are top-notch, with really good binding, and attractive dust jacket designs. Even the paper used for the pages inside of the books is high-grade. So, for book nerds like myself who value that stuff, it's always a treat to get new volumes from the Ignatius Press. Sometimes I even read them!
