Send ââ¤â for a special Valentineâs Day gift from my muse
And so arrived her more timorous, almost equally socially awkward comrade. Though she may not have known precisely what sorts of sweets struck the berserkerâs fancy, Nadir at least had a hunch that perhaps he wasnât overly particular about the saccharine gift heâd receive. And in a way this lessened her anxiety somewhat, seeing as how she planned to share some nostalgic favorites from her homeland. This was admittedly something she hadnât actually considered doing in the past, as she low-key feared that those snacks that were palatable to her own tongue might prove to be not so savory to others or even downright abhorrent.
Well, not that they werenât positively scrumptious treats in their own right, at least in her humble opinion. Though she figured that she probably couldnât go wrong with ethnic sweets, right? In her opinion, at least, they were all merely different concoctions of glucose, only with varying appearances, sometimes with added toppings that only served to enhance the candiesâ unique flavors.Â
The metal tray she carried had a modest assortment of various sweets, each a savory snack from back home that sheâd been fortunate enough to find and purchase in one of the local shops. Todayâs featured confections would include a most delectable saffron brittle with a caramel-hued surface that was practically bursting with pistachios (sohan), a cluster of hard, saccharine saffron crystals on sticks which appeared cumulatively as a sort of sparkling gold confection (nabat), chewy, snow-white nougat blocks that also seemed filled to the brim with pistachios (gaz), and an old personal childhood favorite of Nadirâs, chocolate-coated marshmallow delights that were oft referred to as Angel Kisses.Â
ââŚI, I do hope you enjoy at least some of the selected candies, haha. Just some little sweet treats I grew up on back home. I sincerely hope you find them as pleasing to the gustatory senses as I do! Please do let me know what you think.âÂ
