She wasn't certain what had started it, but every time she had chi blocked the firebender Aquene always wanted to do something kind of nice for him -- after all, it was more of a wrong place wrong time for him.

I suppose I ought to apologize now for how I've treated you since the Varrick case, it was uncalled for and- well. I'm still not going to apologize. You shouldn't have made a deal with the Triple Threats, you're a fucking cop for fucks sake, don't you-

Okay, that's not the point of this letter. 

Point is, I've been hard on you. No harder than you deserve, in my opinion, but I can at least recognize that I've been a bit unfair. Might be because you remind me a bit of myself, might just be you're kind of a prick- 

Doesn't really matter.

Point is, the girl who's as good as my daughter really likes you. Might even love you- don't ask me to understand why, you don't deserve her in my opinion.

But she's a strong-willed kid, and she picked you.

Now- I don't have a lot of time left, and I just want you to know-
