Painting organic forms is okay…. I mean, I’m absolutely terrible at it. Me painting humans!! Could you imagine! (I could imagine, i did it for one of my art folios) Makes me think of that time I tried painting ducks, you could tell instantly [that’s how’s that’s spielt?] that something was wrong with them. Just like with humans, birds, and other non-domesticated animals; if even a little bit, a smidgen, of their anatomy is wrong it looks alllllll wrong!! All of it to the biiiiiinnnnnn!!
However… With domesticated animals like dogs, cats, and even snakes (still not birds) look fine, cute even! With messed up shapes,
Like some of Vanessa Stockard's work painting cats (I’m not showing them to you, go look them up yourself, it’ll take up too much space.) they are quintessentially Little Goobers. All of this talk to say, I’ve been painting a cat. And I fucked it up but it a bit, somehow, it looks good,,, after an extensive makeover with some pencils,,, but I have to say they do look quite good, me thinks.
