We know Spock is the 4.0 kinda guy, but none of the other brilliant students would associate with him, so all of his friends were the Vulcan equivalent of the misfits you remember. They are terrible at being Vulcan. They got the hell outta Dodge so they could be bigger fish in a little pond, and so survived the destruction of Vulcan. (and honestly, this is true of a lot of the survivors)
What if they visit Spock on the Enterprise? What do they do? How do they treat him? Does one of them try to get in Kirk's pants as another tries to compete with Kirk? Do they dish the dirt on Spock? Embarrass and mortify him like only long-time pals can? (thread)

had a dream lastnight where you were also the mod of a popular petsite and i went wait, is that the same asher-dear? wow it is! and then i moved on to sorting stickers, yelling at my wife (she put things away wrong), and herding chickens that inexplicably looked and acted like guinea pigs. (but they were chickens, i swear.)
This is made so much funnier by the fact that the only pet I ever had was a fish and it died on like day two 😭
I need to know though, did I sell you the chicken-guinea pigs? And is that why they’re like that?

hahaha i SUSPECT the answer is recently but if we are long-lost friends i am deeply sorry but hi hello <3 welcome <3 THANK YOU THIS IS SUCH A KIND MESSAGE. i sometimes think i'm doing so much but it really is so exhausting existing as someone who loves hockey and loves the show and wants both hockey culture and fan culture to be so much better than they actually are.
it's frustrating because i feel like lowkey a cunt and an insufferable hater because i really did enjoy the show so much despite a couple qualms, and i think the cast and crew all seem to be really lovely people but the fandom has truly hit rancid levels so quickly that i genuinely can't help but think AS A WHOLE its a net negative for society and i wish it weren't because it doesn't deserve as a media product to be associated with the fans it is associated with and on one hand i want to believe it's just the worst of humanity camping out on elon musk's x dot com and i KNOW most people are normal but it's tough when they are so loud about it and i know it isn't staying confined to certain corners of x dot com.
like people are dehumanizing the shit out of nick suzuki already and treating him as a prop and their shane hollander tulpa, and then you get ottawa irl pinkwashing their homophobia with those stupid fucking jerseys and everyone falling for it like the league has no actual incentive to evolve because they know pandering with the most lazy half assed bullshit is enough for everyone to turn the eyes ears and brains off
and that's right now, i have such a deep fucking pit in my stomach for what's going to happen once season 2 and the ~evil~ mtl storyline roll around. like it's a bit silly but it makes me feel a little nauseous thinking about it.
SO TLDR thank you for this message i'm glad i'm not insane and this resonates and people don't think i'm just being a contrarian i just love my team so much and i just really need both fan and hockey culture to stop hitting rock bottom and grabbing a shovel so they can start digging
