The deal for Flossie being able to remain a sixth-year even as she was retaking some of her OWLs was that she take all three of the NEWT subjects she was eligible for — the three in which she had received an Exceeds Expectations grade. There were only two others she had even passed, but an A wasn’t good enough to be able to manage the Herbology or Astronomy NEWT courses. The E in Potions, Flossie felt might have been a fluke. At least, that was how it seemed now, sat in the class and feeling just as out of her depth as she had that morning in fifth year Charms. She turned to the next table along in slight desperation. “Psst. You’re, like, smart, right? I think my potion’s the wrong colour and I’m sure I did everything.” Maybe. Hopefully.
