What the hell is going on today? 

-2 users from different companies managed to delete a bunch of documents from a share, which we then had to recover from backups

-the boss of one of our client companies called, just to ask which AV they’re using

-the boss of another company called my boss (he does tech too) stating she had a problem but wouldn’t specify. She hung up and called another coworker, but when she reailzed he was in a car and couldn’t help, she hung up. that coworker then had me call her, only to have her say the issue solved itself...

user: Oh, that did it.

I’m asked to go onsite to a client because their server won’t boot... I end up replacing the switches. Apparently, not being able to *connect* to the server is the same thing as it not booting.

I tell a customer on friday at 4.30 that we're waiting for their hosting to make changes and get back to us. Now he's going behind my back to my boss, asking him to step in because it's still not done. What did the dude expect, it's monday morning and I told him it's out of our hands on friday, 30min before closing.

I hate it when users expect magic to happen over the weekends...

I feel bad for my coworker. He's on the phone with an older lady and I hear fragments of his conversation:

You need to restart your modem. ... The modem, where the internet comes in. ... It's the little box from your Internet Provider. ... No, that's a PC. You need a white little box with internet cables. ... ... I know the PC has an internet cable too, but that's not what we want, we want the modem. ... No, you don't need to pull the cable out of the computer.

You could hear the joy in his voice when she finally found the modem

Using others for what they have or what they can offer you when you want it is so selfish. Chewing people up and spitting them back out when your done with them is a terrible thing to do to anyone.
