Kara is not born a wolf, she was made. In her early days she wasn’t able to control her shifts. Now she can shift into her wolf form even without the presence of a full moon but it is generally more painful for her and draining on her energy.
She is able to partially shift ie wolf eyes, claws, fangs without becoming a full wolf.
Kara is able to turn others into werewolves by biting them in a full wolf or partial wolf form. Any children that Kara has, has the potential of becoming a werewolf. She and Raven have had children in the past, some inherited her werewolf curse and others did not.
Generally other wolves do have an innate sense to recognize her an alpha. It doesn’t mean that they are compelled to follow her orders but generally other wolves can sense that she is different even if they can’t place why.
Kara’s wolf form is much larger than other wolves, she is a thousand years old, her form more resembles wolves of those times. She is about the size and weight of a direwolf instead of modern day Grey Wolves.
Kara can sense when other wolves are close by, as all wolves are from her line.
If Kara goes too long without shifting, she will lose control of her wolf side.
Her senses are heightened to the point that she is easily irritated by overwhelming perfumes, colognes, lotions etc and she can be a picky eater do to her sense of taste.
Kara is burned by silver.
Kara is immortal by the power of her on again off again lover Raven, when the two are separated from each other she is truly immortal. She cannot age, nor die of sickness or hunger. She heals quickly, and if she were killed she would be resurrected within a matter of hours or days depending on the nature of the wound. She is still vulnerable to magic but has yet to find a spell that can kill her. However, when they’re in each other’s presence, Kara is mortal and as easy to kill as any other werewolf outside of her shift.
