That scar on Frank's neck in DDBA? The really nasty one, the new one?
He superglued it shut.

What body part are you?
Teeth.
To tear, to rip, to eat, to devour. You’ve only barked and attacked your whole life, bitten and torn at the hands that approached you, unable to tell if they were going to feed you or hurt you. Not uncommon for someone who has endured what you have. Sometimes they can turn in on yourself, biting and tearing flesh at every crevice of your being until you can find what’s underneath, to truly know who you are. But you won’t. Teeth always rot and fall out, and when that day comes, you will be weak and defenceless, muzzled and useless. So while you can, look to the cameras and give us a big smile.

will’s experience is one that he cannot share. not only would it be incredibly difficult for him to articulate, there is nobody that would really understand what he had gone through. on top of this inability to really express himself, will is not the kind of person that is comfortable sharing his burden with the people around him. primarily, will’s goal in coping is to simply move on. while he doesn’t talk about what happened or relay his issues ( or his episodes ) partly because of the aforementioned short stop of verbalizing them, the big player is that he simply doesn’t want to linger on it. he does not want to think about it. his life is a constant refresher on what he went through and he cannot stand it. while angry is a little strong of a word for it, i have to use it in his feelings toward his loved ones. being treated differently than he used to be gets at him. even had he not expressed this to jonathon, it’s easy reading in the way he closes himself off from his mother, from hopper, for awhile, jonathon as well. his classmates tiptoe around him, his friends ( excluding mike ), treat him with kid gloves, and will cannot stand it. i think he really would have ignored his episodes as long as he could. both for his own sake and the sake of his friends and family. he would have gladly endured coughing up a hundred slugs and briefly being back in the upside down if it meant nobody around him mentioned it again, if he could just be the normal boy he is and be treated as such.
We see Frank reading in the Punisher show and books in his bunker but we don’t get the fun of seeing the titles. I love that they include him reading, a break from the “tough guy I shoot and fight things and that’s ALL I do” trope. He also takes a little reading time y’know, appreciates some good literature. What do you think he’s reading?
I think in that scene he was being boring and reading Moby Dick or something like that. He returned the book to Curtis? later in the episode (I need a rewatch to confirm) but he's just reading super boring older books. My man is a Silas Marner kinda dude. He needs some better shit in his life for real.
On the flip flop, I also see him as a Lord of the Rings reader, maybe even Chronicles of Narnia. Really just older books / titles. Maybe even Whirligig? Doesn't much matter the genre, though he's certainly a classical titles kind of guy. "Adventure fiction" - 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Around the World in 80 Days, A Picture of Dorian Gray, A Tale of Two Cities, Journey to the Center of the Earth, To Kill a Mockingbird, Heart of Darkness.
Reminder that Frank superglued that fat neck scar together and that’s why it’s all mangled and rough ty ty ty ty Ty rytntjtjrkeokfifjfj
Frank's celebrity crushes bounce between Signourney Weaver and Jamie Lee Curtis (hello True Lies).
Get you a girl who will break your nose, then make out with you and smear the blood all over your faces right after. ᴴᵃʳᵖᵉʳ
