3. do you often get ideas when watching new media? do you end up wanting a canon character, an oc in that world, or just things involving current muses in the world / with those characters?
3) Honestly…? It’s so TIRING being me… As I kind of answered to in a part of the last set I posted, it’s not worth playing a character for me unless I can find a part of something of them that screams at me like “I get you!” or “I can understand why you’re this way!” The trouble is… I can get into a LOT of different characters and mindsets… I’ve been a self-proclaimed writer my entire life, like since…a very young age. I’ve played games at like 6 years old that had little areas to write and doodle and I created worlds with my toys… It’s a whole other level in my head, lemme just tell you… XD I mostly have to get invested with a character from the beginning in order to get a lot of inspiration from them, unless of course it’s a series that airs over years and sometimes I can pick them up or pick up inspiration from the character development… But in short, yes, I do get a lot of inspiration from new media I watch or I listen to, like music, too, plays a HUGE part in my life.It really depends on the canons available to me in the fandom/verse and whether or not I can really ‘get’ them or not to say if I would be willing to sit down to play them. A lot of times it will be a canon I’ll pick. A lot of times it won’t be, at least not right away… I write in the walking dead fandom and I started out with an oc. That was it. I wanted something in the world but I wanted to make it my own, in a way too. But then, over time, I grew close to canon characters in that world and brought them under my umbrella too. XDAs for the inspiration of the world itself, I pull my characters into crossovers ALL the TIME! I have characters from Nikita and the Walking Dead in 12 Monkeys crossovers. I have a video game character from Alien: Isolation ( Amanda Ripley y’all ) who I have in the 100 crossover. I love doing it. I love CREATING. That’s I think where it’s at for me.
