What is metaphor?
Metaphor to me has taken on a whole new meaning lately. It's really why I started this blog. Metaphor can be something as simple as words: "Juliet is the sun." Or it can be a painting, a photograph, a movie, or anything in between. In short, I believe metaphor is art. It connects the abstract to the concrete. It started with me reading this book, "I is an Other: The secret life of Metaphor" by James Geary, where he discusses how metaphor permeates all life around us, how we cannot even begin to comprehend life without using metaphor. So my goal is to find those metaphors for myself and share them. They may be funny, or they may be serious. Metaphor is a catalyst for understanding, and I believe it helps to see the world through its lens.
