JEE-Advanced 2016 results: IIT Bombay zone has most number of successful candidates for third year running
The Indian Institutes of Technology-Bombay zone once again boasts of the maximum number of candidates who have cleared the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-Advanced 2015) for admission to different IITs. The results declared late Wednesday evening stumped the candidates as it was scheduled to be out only on June 18.
Out of the 1,24,741 candidates who had registered, 117,238 appeared for the exam and 26,456 qualified.
According to figures given by IIT-Bombay, which is the organising IIT for JEE Advanced 2015, the zone-wise qualified candidates include 6,838 from IIT-Bombay, 4,928 from IIT-Madras, 4,511 fromIIT-Bombay, 3,115 from IIT-Kharagpur, 3,085 from IIT-Kanpur, 2,534 from IIT-Roorkee and 1,445 from IIT-Guwahati. The trend is similar to last year.
