Quantum Computing IIT Roorkee Advanced Certification in 2025
International Institute of Technology Roorkee launches sophisticated quantum computing and AI certifications to meet global technology need.
A new professional program from quantum computing IIT Roorkee is the Advanced Certificate in Quantum Computing: Algorithms and AI/ML. The institute's 6.5-month Continuing Education Centre (CEC) Programme prepares technical workers for a fast-changing environment where artificial intelligence and quantum mechanics mix. Since quantum technologies are being used in banking, healthcare, and encryption, this course bridges theoretical physics with commercial applications.
Growth in multi-billion dollar market
At a crucial time in the global technological business, this program launches. From USD 1.42 billion in 2024 to USD 4.24 billion by 2030, quantum computing is predicted to grow. Approximately 20.5% compound yearly growth.
Quantum communication, sensing, and computation are driving this economic boom, according to McKinsey and BCG research. Professor Kaushik Ghosh, CEC Coordinator at IIT Roorkee, said the program “bridges theory and deployment” to prepare engineers and researchers to transform quantum prototypes into production-grade pilots.
Wide Curriculum and “Quantum Intelligence”
The five main modules explain the quantum field:
It covers quantum mechanics, postulates, qubits, qudits, and the No-Cloning Theorem.
Students will directly work with Simon's, Grover's, Deutsch-Jozsa, and Shor's quantum algorithms.
This topic covers cryptography, quantum teleportation, and Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) techniques for safe data transmission.
Quantum Machine Learning (QML): Studying how quantum data and artificial intelligence (AI) interact, particularly with QSVMs and QNNs.
QML Applications: Students will solve the Max-Cut problem, classify wine datasets binaryly, and estimate molecular ground states.
Immersion in Industry-Leading Tools
Real-world application is prioritised in the IIT Roorkee curriculum. Learners will create, model, and benchmark complex algorithms on hardware and platforms while understanding quantum gate mathematics.
PennyLane and Qiskit will be taught to students. To ensure graduates are familiar with tomorrow's breakthrough technologies, the curriculum provides D-Wave gear and IBM Quantum Systems to model algorithms.
Reputable Faculty and Academic Standards
Program managers are IIT Roorkee Electronics and Communication Engineering experts. The programme director, Dr. Sandeep Kumar Singh, specialises on quantum networking and AI in communication networks. Dr. Anshul Jaiswal, who studies optical wireless communication and MIMO systems, and Dr. Vishvendra Singh Poonia, who studies quantum biology and random number generators, join him.
Academic quality is ensured via rigorous certification. Applying for a "Certificate of Successful Completion" requires 50% attendance and 50% points. Attendance but not scoring earns a "Certificate of Participation".
In-demand jobs in drug research, healthcare, finance, and optimisation await program graduates. Career paths include:
Developing Quantum Software
Developer of Quantum Machine Learning
Security Analyst/Cryptographer; Quantum
Quantum AI Product Designer
January 31, 2026 marks the next cohort. On Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM (IST), working professionals will attend classes. Total learning hours include live sessions, recorded material, and projects.
Our program price is ₹1,59,000 + GST. Minimum requirements are a bachelor's degree in technology, engineering, or the sciences and good math skills. An optional one-day campus immersion visit to IIT Roorkee provides networking and peer education experience.
An analogy for understanding the transition from classical to quantum computing is a librarian who must search every shelf individually for a book. QCs are like librarians who can scan every shelf in the building at once to find the right information in a fraction of the time. We teach professionals how to manage that "team" to tackle previously unsolvable challenges.
