The stele of Poh in 906 Masehi mentions that there is a religious ceremony conducted at the village green wuang (Groyokan, Sambirejo Village, Prambanan, Sleman) during the Medang kingdom when Sanjaya dynasty. In the inscription mentioned that there is construction of a temple that became known as the tallest Temple in Yogyakarta. As befits the style of old Javanese Temple, the main temple is facing West. In front of the temple there are three ancillary temples stand on equal footing as the embodiment of the trimurti (Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva). These three ancillary temples looking out towards the main temple, namely facing to the East. As for the ancillary temples which are in the midst of protecting the statue of the bull Nandini, vehicle of Shiva. Enter the Temple it will be found a pair of makara, a mythical creature shaped like a fish-bodied and with a curved like an elephant. Makara head angles down with a gaping mouth. Above the threshold there are headdresses Kala of the composition. At the entrance there is a carving of kala makara, a giant mouth kala connected makara. The pattern of kala-makara is commonly found in a variety of decorative temples in Central Java. In the mouth of a makara each there is a relief of small parrots. In the body of the main temple, there is a room. In the middle of the wall section in the North, East and South respectively, there is a niche. Every niche flanked by sculptures on the walls depicting a pair of apsara who impressed flew towards recesses. Right in the middle of the room there is a lingga and yoni that compactly by Cobra figures. Beings that come from the Hindu myth is symbolic of the buffer.
