After a long week, Jefe's feeling a lot better. He still has a couple days left of meds for his burns, but they're definitely improving and he has a great appetite for a guy who just had a bunch of teeth pulled out. Doodie update! After a month of restricted exercise, Duzen has been showing signs of improvement. I took him to one of our regular vets today for an exam and estimate and explained the situation from last month up until now. According to the vet, there is inflammation and he still needs restrictions, but at this point he does not recommend going ahead with surgery as he rarely limps and has not needed pain medication since the first week. He sent us home with a months worth of anti inflammatories and we will revisit his progress then. This is not an all clear, but more of a put it in the back pocket kind of thing. He may still need surgery some day, especially since this is such a common injury. The other good news is the estimate they provided is about $1,500 cheaper. So, with that being said, we're all extremely grateful for all of your support, kind words and donations. All monies raised will be placed in a savings account for this exact scenario where he does need the repair next month. That being said, I know times are tough, and I will be more than happy to return any monies raised since surgery is not currently on the immediate table.
