Hey! Birdkin over here, a question was brought up in our group chat, it would seems with birds, bats and our local ikran, arm wings feel much more normal and vivid which makes sense with our biology, where as back wings seems more like imagination, or like folded forms in my case. How do back wings on six winged creatures feel? Is it more like a second pair of arms? Something else?
Basically, at least for me. Sometimes, especially when they’re weaker, they want to mirror my arms movement-wise, but if they’re there in full strength they’re almost always entirely separate. Because the anatomy is so similar they feel more or less like a second set of arms, just… set differently and with different motion constraints. The upper arms can’t move as far forward because the body’s in the way (even though they would phase through, the muscle memory is there and prevents them from doing so), the “hand” and finger segments aren’t as flexible, and obviously the proportions are different from a human arm.
I imagine they might be more tangible more often if they did match up with my arms? No way of telling, really, but it would probably make it easier to sense/pay attention to them if they were attached to physical limbs than the way they are now. But there are definitely days they’re so vivid I can momentarily forget they’re not physical, even as is.
Hope that answers your question! <3
