Want something similar as Ayesha and Sid had in wake up sid
I just watched Wake Up Sid for the first time (too late ik ik) and realised a few things:
1. HOW THE HELL DOES RANBIR KAPOOR MAKE ME FALL IN LOVE WITH HIM WITH EVERY MOVIE OF HIS???
like pls sir stoppp
2. What is up with those fake accents in basically every other 2010ish movie?? lmao
3. Even though literally all the Karan Johar films are set in unrealistic worlds, I feel like that is exactly the reason we still cherish those movies. I mean, no one wants to escape their mundane reality with another sad, boring story.
4. I also suddenly have a really strong urge to leave everything behind and start my photography career (which I'll fail as well because I have the same amount of talent as the romance between Sid and Tanya, which was basically nonexistent)
All in all, it's a really fun feel good movie to watch and oh, did I mention that the soundtrack is absolutely BOMB?!
This post quickly turned into a review so imma head out now.
Tell me more about Undulations :)
Oh thank you so very much for asking this, it came at the most perfect of times in every sense of the word❤️.
Since I'm so happy, I'm gonna go all out, also it's rather funny that you happened to ask me this today, since it was today that I decided that maybe I really do need to write something down y'know? And Undulations is all I've been thinking about all day.
Before anything else, I'll also take this opportunity to post the inspired creation?(trying my hand at Krita for the first time, and just symbolism that was taken a little too far, where some things didn't quite turn up as I wanted them to, the first one's the original, the other's are cropped screenshots with a colour channel being omitted, gave it a different dimension in my thought process)
I think it'll have to be called a creation 'cause idk I can't find a befitting word. They've been rotting in my drafts for too long in hopes of a fourth chapter that is taking forever to come, so I'm just jumping the chance here lol:
Ah! Finally! (Thanks for giving me the window to post them :)
So Undulations is basically the first real idea that got me into writing, I've been thinking for a really long time, but this one really built itself and as of now it is very much of a living, breathing entity in its own right.
As for the actual plot, I think even after so many alterations, it's created this really prominent watermark in my mind that I just gotta build on. Tbh, the way I describe it in my head is a dark, cleverly humorous, psychological yet simple story, which sounds very very far off from the reality of it as it stands now but given that that is what I'm aiming for in then end, it's symbolic reference is very much like the superimposition of an MRI and a transparent ultrasound film, with negatives and greys and dents and nothing really clear, but a lot happening there simultaneously (sorry that's the best comparison I could come up with it's hard to explain 😅).
I also realised how with two pivotal OCs and a canon character the plot really needs to be thought of in terms of character development as well, maybe like individual scripts? I knew that from the very start but I never realised that even after creating some sort of checkpoints in the story, I'd have trouble, or rather find myself staring at four ways when it comes to a character's (OC) reaction, 'cause even though I created them myself, the process of getting to know them like a real person, befriend them or maybe even come to a meh status is rather hard. Won't say that predicting canon character reactions is simple either, sometimes even more daunting, but I feel it comes easier somehow.
As of now, I'm working on developing a map for the same, and yes if anything create some basic outline. Oh and yes how can I forget, I always had these supporting characters in my mind when I visualised the scenes but never really named them, I did today, so that's a step forward.
I feel it all ties to the confidence I've lost in my time away and just my general tendency to overthink and hyperanalyze stuff in the end, perhaps writing faster, without stopping will help. I'm not really sure though.
With that I thank you once again for letting me unload in this word vomit of an answer by asking the question and I hope you have a lovely day ahead❤️!
P.S: The notation used is a portion of the song:
Wake Up Sid [2009]
Ore manwa tu toh bawra hai,
Tu hi jaane tu kya sochta hai.
Orey manva tu to bavra hai Tu hi jaane tu kya sochta hai Tu hi jaane tu kya sochta hai bavre kyun dikhaye sapne tu sote jaagte
Oh my mind, you are like a nomad Only you know what you are thinking Only you know what you are thinking, oh wanderer Why are showing me dreams while I sleep and am awake
Jo barse sapne boond boond Nainon ko moond moond; Kaise main chaloon Dekh na sakoon, anjaane raastein;
When the dreams rain down in drops Flooding my eyes How could I walk I can’t see the unknown paths
Song of the day: Cover of Jiyen Kyun, Meherbaani, Iktara and Kun Faaya Kun. In love with his voice
