here's a thought:

but they don't know that when he tsks at your rambling, he shifts one side of his headphones away to hear your voice. they don't know that even though he teases you for your low test scores, he would stay up late at night just to tutor you till you'd get it right. they don't know that after rolling his eyes at your affection, he places a chaste kiss on your forehead and hides his red face in your hair.

I have this headcanon that Annie's love language is gift giving. Not in the sense that she buys a gift and wraps it but in the sense that she finds something she deems good and gives it to someone she cares about. Like a rock she thinks is pretty, or a book she found at the antique store, or a scarf her father made that's probably falling apart, or a fallen pigeon feather with a cool pattern and she gives them to Armin bwcause they reminded her of him. Armin loves it every time. He probably has a whole drawer of things she's randomly given him.
