Awww, thank you all lovely people <3. 

I just seem to have said yes to too many things/people, and now I'm paying the price :/. I guess at least life isn't boring, but I would appreciate a day to just stop, breathe, and reboot my brain, cos I feel like it's leaking out of my ears at the moment.

THANKFULLY though, I am in such a better place mentally than I was this time last year - I know that 2013 me would have probably locked herself in the bathroom and cried herself to sleep in the tub by now, so at least that's not a worry. I can do it. I'm just so fucking tired :/. 

But yes, thankee for the support, and Ellen, just knowing that helps a lot :).

Sooooo, pretty much all of these are likely to be ten/rose or david/billie, and probably 9/10 will be mostly smut if I'm taking an early guess, just forewarning you about that. Also, keep in mind I'm just going with the first ten I think of, so the fact a fic didn't make it on this list doesn't mean I didn't adore it, it just means I have a really bad memory or that I ran out of slots. I plan on making a master rec list somewhere down the line, so just have patience for a bit if you want a more extensive list. Note: I mentioned author URLS on Tumblr, where possible. Other note: These are by no means in order of preference. Update: i read through this and I am more than a little ashamed that the majority of fics I find 'memorable' are indeed purely smut (well, enjoy anyway).

1) Coaster Castles by rallalon. Ten/Rose. One-shot. Rose is in a club on a strange planet, awaiting her Doctor (Nine)’s return, but is instead seductively confronted by Ten, donning perception filter glasses that conceal his identity. Distraught from the events of “Voyage of the Damned,” he seeks comfort from her. Terribly angsty but fantastic.

2) Kinetic Sense by Doona Rose. Ten/Rose. One-shot. The lights go out in the TARDIS, and things get a bit heated on a walk in the dark hallways. Because it's quite possibly one of the hottest things I've ever read, period. Fanfic or not. Absolutely 10/10.

3) Such Great Heights by nocookiesjustbooks. Ten/Rose. One-shot. The Doctor and Rose have to take a red-eye commercial flight when separated from the TARDIS, and are confronted with new levels of tension between them in the close quarters. Because I LITERALLY READ THIS FOR THE FIRST TIME WHILE ON A PLANE AND IT WAS SO FANTASTIC I'LL NEVER FORGET IT.

4) The Last Stop and Stopping Time by tasogareban. Ten/Rose. Two parts of the same story, told from first Rose’s and then The Doctor’s perspective. Because this is a beautiful, heart-wrenching, wonderfully written story. A future Doctor, anguished after the events of Doomsday, who takes a trip to the past with the intention of simply seeing Rose again, hoping not to interfere with events or his own timeline. However, against his better judgment, he continues to return, and soon the visits become much more meaningful to them both as their relationship escalates to a new level. I CRIED. SEVERAL TIMES.

5) St. Ives by shutupandlovetennant. Ten/Rose. AU. Multi-chapter. Rose, a barista, and the Doctor, a physicist, meet briefly in Rose's coffee shop before independently planning a vacation for themselves in the small coastal town of St. Ives. However, shortly on arriving, the unlikely acquaintances discover they are lodged in the only two (adjacent) rooms in a tiny inn, and decide to make the most of their time together. Because it's BRILLIANT and heart warming fluff and also Amber is one of my bff's for life.

6) My Beloved is Unto Me and Thou Hast Ravished My Heart by Philippa Somerville. Tentoo/Rose. Multi-chapter. Rose and the newly human Doctor both struggle to cope with their unexpected life together, both harboring fear they are unwanted by the other. Because Lord knows I love me some Tentoo-related angst. Don't worry though, it promises a happy ending and there's lots of fluff as well.

7) The Hedgehog Concept by The Carlisle Cooperative. Ten/Rose. Series. Because this entire series is one of my all-time favorite stories ever, but ESPECIALLY Speaking Silence (the epilogue). The series is fantastic, the characterization is SPOT-ON, has so much fluff it will turn you into a stuffed animal, and the way it handles the Doctor's telepathic tendencies during sex is just ridiculously sweet and hot. Honestly, reading this story in particular is what sparked my interest in writing Doctor/Rose fic myself. A+ please read.

8) Only Time by Orianna2000. Ten/Rose. Multi-chapter. The Doctor accidentally crosses his own timeline, to see Rose burst into the Tardis after he had lost her in Doomsday. He has three days to spend with her before losing her again, forever… or does he? Mostly because this is excellently written, heart-wrenching and heart-warming in all the right places.

9) Friction in Filmmaking by thebadddestwolf. David/Billie. One-shot. Shortly into production of a Tentoo/Rose spinoff series, David and Billie get a bit carried away filming a kissing scene. Because I've probably read it ten times now and I still love it just as much (which is a hell of a lot).

10) Taut by hollonsy and thebadddestwolf. David/Billie. Three-shot. The pair proactively sets a date to hopefully settle, once and for all, the growing tension between them. Because this is one of the goddamn hottest things I've ever read and I love the characterization - it's so them. Another one I've gone back to a few times.
