The “ilium should start with The horse and the infant” have it wrong. While i agree with the sentiment, the musical should NOT end there. It would miss out on VERY important things.
I think that the horse and the infants beginning, edited to be less from odysseus’ perspective, removing all the ‘Penelope’ parts and deviating into a completely different song after the ‘attack!’ Line, should be somewhere in the either end of the second to last saga or the very beginning of the last saga.
Keep in mind, the story of the trojan war is not JUST about the war itself, but how it affected those who partook in the war. Shown in the consequences dished out to Diomedes for attacking Aphrodite, Agamemnons death by his own fault or THE ENTIRE ODYSSEY?
I also think the war should not be the start of the musical. I don’t think Jorge is actually going in that direction but if he is i find it odd. There’s so much musical potential with how the war is set up. Odysseus pretending to be insane, Achilles disguising himself as a woman by his mothers demands, or Palamedes… trying to kill an infant Telemachus.
The set up gives a lot of perspective on the war, and should at least take up a full saga to explore each character. If ilium is 9 sagas like epic. The war itself should only be 7 sagas OR LESS.
