State Of The UnIon A Sequined Dress
Hi folks,
Basically, I Live Sweat is on indefinite hiatus, and has been for a while. So is my work with Punknews, for the same reason. The deal is this: I’m currently working as a data analyst in the music industry, and I consider working within the business incompatible with writing about it in an objective manner. It’s a classic conflict of interests, and I don’t feel that either I Live Sweat or Punknews readers deserve anything less than honest and objective journalism, and I can’t provide that in my current gig.
The good news (other than that I’m doing a job I enjoy and I’m finally off the minimum wage) is that I’ve started up a new blog for non-music writing. It’s called Dream Light-Years (yes, it’s another Minutemen reference, or rather the second part of the same one), and I’d love for any of you who have any interest in my writing beyond the field of music to join me there.
Thanks for your support over the years, and know that, should I ever leave the music industry in my professional life for whatever reason, I Live Sweat will ride again.
