Pulling the Plug
To whom it may concern: After 5 years of booking shows and releasing music, I am pulling the plug on this project known as Start Something NJ. It’s been a privilege releasing the music of friends and I can’t believe Amanda and I started this thing in way back in November 2010! Where did the time seriously go? I’m not going to write a long eulogy, but I would just like to thank all the bands I’ve had the pleasure of working with, friends involved with this project, and every single person who has ever supported this pseudo-label over the years. It is both awesome and a bit surreal that I have addressed and sent orders to folks from Germany and Japan out of my bedroom in a small town in the middle of New Jersey most have never heard of. The internet will do that; globalization and all that jazz.
So yeah, I will obviously continue to book shows and will eventually release more music at some point. Really, I just want to say thanks and not leave you hanging.
Oh, and one more thing: please check out Flemington DIY, a non-profit art space started last year in my hometown. Everyone I know and love is involved with this space and it is still unreal to me that this place exists. Continue to create and approach every day and every one with a smile.
