hey, I read your fic Ill Intentions on AO3 a while ago and I think in the author's notes you mentioned that you had a watch like Will's and I was just wondering what the name of that watch is because I have Aspergers and I thought a watch like that could be really helpful because I also forget to eat and drink water and go outside and take meds so if you could help me that would be really nice. sorry to bother you

Hello! You’re not a bother at all. I apologize for what is more than likely a very late response.

I do have a watch much like the one that Will wore in Ill Intentions. I think that the one I referred to at the time was the Samsung Gear, and it was really helpful for me! Now, I have the Samsung Galaxy watch, and it’s even better. You can type reminders and time them in the app on the phone. For my personal struggles with OCD, this is both a blessing and a curse, but for my forgetful nature when I’m in a depressed state, this is a needed relief when I accidentally go days without eating.

I hope you’ve found a watch like this, and if so that it’s been a help to you!

Okay, so for those that have been around from the beginning-ish (Idk, maybe halfway through my time in fandom, maybe more, maybe less?) then you know that I used to have so, SO much more time for writing than I do now (obvs otherwise you’d see way, way more updates).

And while I am still chipping away at finishing Ill Intentions (I won’t leave anything not finished, promise) I hit this bout of writer’s block where it just...is...like...hitting a brick wall, literally.

So, I was reading, trying to see if maybe the works of another could jostle something loose. You go for walks, you do random writer’s prompts just to stretch the brain a bit, you try and engage with people socially because maybe they’ll use a turn of phrase that so profoundly resonates with a character lurking in your head, ect.

Anyway, I found myself going back over some of my first fics in the fandom, reminiscing and remembering the good times when I didn’t have writer’s block, and I just realized:

The Fault in My Code almost has 50,000 hits.

I try not to care too much about the hits/kudos/comments because realistically, I write this for myself just as much as I love sharing it with such a wonderful fandom, but that really just slapped me in the face, guys. I don’t know if it’s the same person every day clicking the link and reading a chapter at random, or if it’s those of you that loved it so much the first time that you keep going back, or if people are still finding the fic, but wow.

I am just so humbled and shell-shocked at the support, patience, and kindness from this fandom! You guys have been so welcoming, friendly, and supportive from the moment I first was posting/wondering if I should watch Hannibal to the moment I finally felt my writing gears start turning and I posted Magnum Opus. I feel like I’ve grown so, so much in my writing, and the fandom only gets bigger and bigger with time! 

Hell, the fact that I can even say ‘Magnum Opus’ or ‘The Fault in My Code’ and some of y’all read those names and know the fic I’m talking about just floors me.

It really, really just floors me.

Anyway, long story short I will have the Climactic Chapter 20 of Ill Intentions posted early this coming week! Looking back and seeing just how much you guys have supported some of my hair-brained, wily shit in these fics gives me a much needed boost of inspiration/confidence to boot. :)
