Ill Winds - prose by Paul Vincent Cannon

The entire story of Ill Winds* has been:
- add a lot of features
- review what is absolutely necessary
- remove a lot of features
- repeat
At least every cycle a feature or two finds a way to be streamlined into the minimum viable ruleset. Unfortunate that the cycle will continue indefinitely until I actually get it back to playtesting - a problem complicated by the fact that I myself am a horrible game master.
Oh, and as an aside, this will probably be the last game notes thing on this blog. Looking to move game stuff to another tumblr in hopes of going more in depth on things there and just leaving the crappy art archive going here. In theory.

I keep trying to keep enemies for my RPG simple but instantly fail every time because the game has four health bars and I think it's cool how you have to manage different survival aspects and all but that means everything has FOUR HEALTHBARS
I need a more efficient way to abstract this down (especially since I keep wanting to split epic monsters into parts like some kind of videoghame bossfight, which means MORE HEALTHBARS) but haven't landed on something yet I can make universal. Maybe once summer is over and I actually get to sleep again...
I’ve completely readjusted Ill Wind’s weight and carry capacity a good three or four times now. Trying to keep it easy to use but also an active concern.
In the mix, some oddities pop up time to time. Like a baseline character being able to carry five others all day long with no side effects.
It's evil, gross, sad and maybe a little pretty. Get the new book NAPTIME here NAPTIME PINUP by Nick Vincenti Obviously something wrong with the man, obviously we're buds.
