Posting this drawing is fitting for today's #bellletstalk day. Im gonna get real for a sec and talk about something I've never really told anyone before. When I drew this, I joked to my sister that she is the crow and I am the mouse. To her, I was joking about the size difference, but for me, it was also about how she carries and supports me. Growing up, my sister was aware of how I had a habit of self inflicting pain (pinching or biting myself) to deal with overwhelming emotions that I didnt know how to deal with. But she would always yell at me when she saw it and say "DONT DO THAT!" Having her notice and care about me helped me know that I wasn't alone. As I grew older, I learned better coping mechanisms. It's been a long time since I've hurt myself (well, it's happened but way less) and this is the first time I've ever talked about it this openly. For all the people out there who have mental illness, there are a lot of little crows around you. They will pick you up when you need it most but you need to ask for help. And to those around me, know that I will pick you up when you fall. I'll be your little crow. As a person with mental illness, if not for the support of my husband, family, and friends, who would know where I would've ended up. If you ever need someone to talk to, reach out and let's talk 👍 I'm here for you and you are not alone! _____ #mentalillness #illcarryyou #youarenotalone #2dartist #draweveryday #womeninillustration #lineart #artoninstagram #aotd #digitalink #procreate #ipadpro #applepen #drawing #sketch #digitalillustration #drawingoftheday #sketchbook #doodle #creative #art #instaart #instaartist #digitalartwork #illustrationartist #digitalsketch https://www.instagram.com/p/B77XW53D9iO/?igshid=7m8oomajemlj
