A year ago I took as an enrichment class, an illustration course that was offered in my college. I was supposed to be in an intermediate class, but was by mistake signed up for an advanced one. • • I decided to stay in the course anyway, and as part of my final project I designed this game which is based on the card game SET, but instead of shapes, colours, shadings and numbers - I did cities, landmarks and different drawing methods. • • It was hard work that took me long, frustrating hours. It was my first time working with the Illustrator program (to shape my drawings into cards), and even doing such a project in general. I almost pulled out every single hair on my head and could barely feel my fingers at the end of it. • • But I’m nothing if not determined and stubborn, and if I start something I also finish it. And the sense of accomplishment at the end was beyond satisfying, especially since I was in a class filled with advanced and experienced students. • • I’m sharing this now as a reminder and proof to myself and others that need motivation - that with hard work and determination, when we believe in ourselves - even the sky isn’t the limit. • • I feel like especially in these times, I need to remind myself of these moments and “small” accomplishments, to give myself the power and energy and faith that I can do anything I set my heart and mind on. That nothing can stop me. • • So I won’t stop. And I won’t give up. And I won’t stop believing. And neither should you. • • • How about you? What are some of your favorite accomplishments?
