Illustrator Pattern
To start I changed “Essentials” in the upper right corner to “Painting”. This opened up a number of new panels but I only needed Swatches and Layers.
To create my own pattern I used the Blob Brush (where the Paintbrush Tool is) where I painted a shape in the box.
Selecting the shape I dragged it into the Swatches panel, where a new swatch appears. This automatically creates a reading pattern with the shape I just painted. Double clicking the pattern swatch I just created to open the Pattern Options I edited it slightly to have more copies than 5x5 and make the width a little bigger.
Using the patterns I just created I edited the shapes provided, as well as turning on the detailed overly layer.

Quick pattern practice with my berry branches from Snack! They’re tilable and you’re free to use them as a blog background if you credit me but I’d appreciate it if you let me know you did :----)
