My Hero
Chase is such a fantastic animal! He is a certified Service Mobility animal by Assistance Dogs International standards, passing his Public Access Testing with flying colors. He has never had any training for other specialties. Yet, this beautiful animal has learned on his own to alert me when my Autonomic Dysreflexia (AD) flares up, and my blood pressure shoots to dangerous levels. AD is a result of my spinal cord injury. He becomes very persistent, pawing at my arms until I take my blood pressure - always discovering it to be high. He truly is my canine hero!!
Even though we went on our daily run/roll, Chase is certainly missing our public activities! Some loving, a smear of peanut butter flavored toothpaste on his favorite bone is all it took to calm his restlessness. Ahhh...if all life could be so simple! ❤️
Chase loves that moment when he goes “off duty” and gets his vest and headcollar removed. He’s so loyal that he actually doesn’t need a vest to do things for me 💕

A little background on this task Chase does so many times a day for me. Some of you may know that I'm in the process of getting my elevator installed, however, until it is complete, I can only make one very tiring "bumping" my way up the stairs. So...that means when I self-cath, I need a bit of privacy from anyone that might be standing on the porch. I use my amazon echo to go into "privacy mode" which changes my lights to red and closes my shades but it can't do the door...that's where Chase fills the gap. This particular door is lightweight and it took a few rebound bumps on his nose before Chase was able to know the exact amount of push to give. He's a pro now! ♥️
Chase is savoring his last few minutes in bed before the day starts! The minute my wheelchair starts rolling...he’s off the bed and right behind me without any prompting! So loyal!!
