Well, I have my license and I had my first two days of work so far. My boss Pat is going to Florida with his family for Spring Break which probably means something will go terribly wrong and Carl (my cool Korean co-worker) and I will be swamped with work. It always happens. When the boss leaves town, problems spring up like crazy.
However, I'm going to really try to stay organized and not freak out too much. So far it's pretty easy. Setting up showings can be tedious at times, and coordinating schedules with 4 different people is no easy task. So far I've got about 10 showings on Saturday and 2 on Sunday. It will be a busy two days and a lot of driving, but I'm thankful for that.
I can remember in high school working in the college grill I was complaining about how busy we got and how stressed I felt and my boss simply replied, "That's your job security." Thanks to Mrs. LaDona it totally changed my perspective on stress and busyness. It made me realized that if I was bored, or if work was slow and easy, eventually I'd be out of a job. It was one of those, "Ah-ha," moments that I will never forget. I'm glad to have a job where I'm going all over Chicagoland and have a packed Saturday. It means that our business is doing well and that eventually I will get paid.
I also consider it quite a blessing that I get to really get exciting about what I'm doing. I'm helping people make probably the biggest purchase of their lives! Scary? Yes, but rewarding? Also, yes. Just last night I almost forgot to eat dinner I was so busy emailing and calling agents to set up appointments. I was genuinely thrilled to be serving these people and trying to get things done as quickly as possible. If you know me then you know I like to move fast, walking, running, driving (I got the tickets in 6 different states to prove it), and now I'm hoping to transfer that desire to be efficient and fast to my job.
Through all I can think about is how blessed I am. God has provided so many open doors in the past month and a half and I feel like I know it's from Him. The things I've prayed for are so specific and frequent that there's no way it can be coincidence. I feel like I've tapped in to the favor that people at New Philadelphia (my church in Korea) always talked about. If you're looking for answer from God right now, make sure that you make them specific and meaningful so you'll know when He moves and works in your life. Then, you can also remember to thank Him for what He gives.
