I've been busy designing T-shirts. This time around I'm using "teeny tiny pompoms" with sparkling gold sequins. We've been having super hot weather here lately which made me think of cropping the T-shirt. (These do not bare the midriff.....if I still had the abs of my 30's & 40's I WOULD HAVE!🤩😘😜). Instead, they come just below the natural waistline. I wanted something cool & comfy and SASSY too! HA! The last few years I've noticed that "BOYFRIEND" fitting denim jean's are all the rage. So that got me thinking how comfy a "boyfriend" fitting T-shirt would be to wear with the comfy jean's. To achieve it I bought an all cotton T-shirt in a size larger than I normally wear. Then I washed it and dryed it in a hot clothes dryer to pre-shrink it. I ended up with a roomy/boxie T-shirt that is super, duper COMFORTABLE! The pompoms & sequins give it the SASSY look I was going for! (now I just have to pluck up my courage and wear it in public). What do you think??? i just have to start on working on my mini project as this holiday is ending soon! if not i have to time to make my farewell gift. Hell yeah!

Never too many pompoms!

Just before Christmas I was fabric shopping in London, and of course I had to visit Liberty. Whilst I was there a lovely lady was running a pompom making workshop... I had always made pompoms from two bits of cut-out cardboard and it was pretty fiddly to keep pushing the wool through the whole in the middle... but she had loads of these brilliant little colourful plastic things - actual pompom makers! They were a real thing that you could buy! I was so excited, I had discovered a means to making pompoms of all different sizes in a fraction of the time (which I'm sure everyone can see the importance of!)

So, obviously I had to make one while I was there and give this clever little contraption a go... and here are pictures of my giant fluffy pink pompom almost finished. So pleased with myself, the first thing I did when I got home that evening was order my own plastic pompom makers. I made loads of tiny ones to decorate Christmas presents with, medium ones to put on the tree, big ones to hang around the house, I think I developed an addiction. This ever-so-slight new found obsession wore off a bit after Christmas when the festive decorations went away but this evening I have just been rummaging in my room and found a big bag of wool and a selection of makers, and I've decided that it's time for some cheery springtime pompommy decorations, so that is how I will probably spend my free time for the foreseeable future!

It's the small things that keep us happy, eh!
