Happy birthday

I remember when I used to sit in the kitchen and watch you peal an orange for yourself, and I'd stare at you and smile and you'd give in and give me the rest of your orange. I remember every time I walked in the door and go to greet you, you'd say how taller and beautiful I am. I remember at Christmas time when we'd all sit around the table and eat lots of food and you'd sit at the end and make lots of jokes to me. I remember the last Christmas I saw you and my mum and brother were making weird noises and singing and you just looked at them like they were weirdos and asked what they were doing and I found it so funny. I remember how you would repeat the same thing over and over again. I remember hearing the news about you being brought to hospital. I remember visiting you and seeing how helpless you were. I remember saying that I loved you very much and even though you couldn't say anything back I asked if you heard me and you nodded your head and opened your eyes and looked at me and smiled. I remember holding your hand and not wanting to go home. I remember getting the news of how you left this world in your peaceful sleep. I remember everything and I will always remember. I will always remember how you made me smile, happy birthday grandad, I miss you. Ti voglio tanto bene 💜
