Ilphsi should have his life cut out for him. He's got a solid grip on Trollian business law, which should qualify him easily for the teal-blooded niche of legal counsel. There's just one issue.

While he was in schoolfeeding, Ilphsi began to experience intense anxiety and insomnia, enough to make him miss entree lectures. Facing uncertain prospects, he decided to forcibly make his brain shut up with a classic highblood recipe: soporific cream pies. The difference was night and day, but unfortunately, they were the only thing preventing his nights from becoming his days.

After finishing his schoolfeeding, Ilphsi found himself dependent on sopor slime, facing horrific anxiety and nightmarish hallucinations if he tried to wean off. So, he didn't wean off, and over time, he learned to function while half-sedated.

Now, the sopor slime does almost nothing to help him sleep, and only mostly contains his anxiety. And since it's the same substance as what's made in recuperacoons, that means... Ilphsi's insomnia is worse than ever.
