My best friend is 22 today (today in Florida, its still tomorrow because I'm in California)

We've known each other for half our lives, which isn't something I can say about anyone else. Even when she moved all over the country she was still, and is still my best friend.

Through all the fucked up stuff, and all the good stuff. She was there when my dad left, and wen my boyfriend cheated on me, and when my mom got sick. And she was there when I went through living on my own, and through toxic relationships.

She got me through shit. No matter how bad things got, or how lonely I felt, I knew that someone would miss me if I was gone. Even when shes on the other side of the country.

I don't think a lot of people get to say things like that.

I know that things are hard right now Nee. I'm sorry Florida is awful. I wish I could have stayed longer.

I'm sorry I couldn't be there for you all the time, I'm sorry about Chris and John and all the people who don't realize how absolutely amazing you are. I wish I could help you feel better about yourself. I'm sorry that life hasn't always been kind.

But I know that there are people who love you so so so much, myself included haha. And I know today probably isn't off to a good start, but I'm still gonna wish you a happy birthday.
