i have not listened to a song this well done in a hot second and i like went on the genius page and everything to make sure i understood it?? like i ?? man hold on it’s 2:40 am i can’t talk intelligently about the lyricism of this but thematically this was just something so intimate and also terrifying. which is like. that’s my favorite thing. when something seems normal and is just slightly unsettling. like i love feeling that particular brand of freaked out. but also the existentialism. the build of the third verse. also again i read the genius comments and listened to DVD menu to make sure i understood the very end. which like. the end. dude. it’s like just the right side of dissonant and also warm and swelling. it just does exactly what it’s supposed to do. i’m not bullshitting u this is genuinely one of the best executed concepts i have ever heard what the fuck.
