this was disgusting queerbait and i hope the duffers understand that their actions have hurt not only the byler community but the entire queer community. i have very little hope that there is any coming back from this. the audacity to not announce that byler wasnt going to happen when half of your fanbase was so set on it is disgusting.
the duffers have put down the very communities they were meant to be uplifting and have left us feeling mocked and humiliated. they have had COUNTLESS opportunities to tell us that byler was never going to happen, but to let us be so hopeful that we might finally get a beautiful queer love story in a mainstream show when they knew damn well for years that byler wasnt going to sail all for the sake of secrecy is appalling to say the least.
i and so many others are devastated and rightly so. and yk what even if by some miracle byler does happen in episode 8, a queer persons emotional arc and the real world queer community's feeling have still be used and exploited all for the sake of a plot twist. so yes fuck the duffers brothers, fuck shawn levy, and fuck this show.
