what a tragicomedy of shenanigans at the beginning

i still don’t feel like the writing of the yesterday’s sequence made sense especially going into the beginning of today’s episode with her resolution that she understood and then again taking her husbands place etc.

but whatever! i just needed her to do that and then get on the battlefield lol

and ahh the princess and gongsun yin

lead up to the battle was very heavy which added to the effect of her actually being on the battlefield bc it’s so bleak and terrifying. battle sequence itself was also SO AWESOME omg her father’s knife broke this totally isn’t indicative of anything else to come haha

and of course AHHH the scene of them looking at each other on the battlefield - she looks so hurt and angry (esp bc this whole thing was bc she was worried he was so hurt) and then her running away and him on the horse behind her AHHH

(Literally the randomest weirdest I could think of LOL)

this ended up being something i totally want to write a oneshot on <3

you and spencer have to babysit two-year old hank morgan for an evening, and you spend the entire night chasing the little boy around the house, hoping to prevent him from wreaking havoc.

he chews on the corners of savannah's nice throw pillows during the movie when he gets bored, and you have to kindly pull it out of his mouth. then he starts craving sugar, so when spencer's not looking (for which he gets an earful from you about later on), hank sneaks off into the kitchen and breaks into a box of his dad's sugary cereal that he's not allowed to have.

you haven't talked about having kids anytime soon with spencer, but he's your fiancee and you know he really wants to have kids some day. with your wedding only two months away, you know the topic of starting a family is coming next.

watching hank is sort of like a trial run for that, and you're doing your best to prove that you can be a good mom (there's no doubt in your mind that spencer will be a good dad. this is your fight to prove, not his).

you're so stressed about making sure this goes well so you can prove to spencer and yourself that you're ready for a baby of your own. but when things keep going awry, you start to unravel. the final straw is when hank, through no fault of his own (it was on your watch), accidentally knocks over a vase that was gifted to savannah and derek for their wedding.

spencer finds you crying in the bathroom, hiding so he doesn't have to see you going through it. he thinks you just feel guilty about the vase because it doesn't even register to him that you could doubt being a good mom. he's absolutely sure you would be, so it's outlandish to him that you didn't believe that.

once he reassures you that you're going to be fine, that kids are still kids and they will do these things, you feel a little more confident with hank. and with the (near) future of having a litter of spencer's kids.
