Some people are desperate to have a relationship and they accept to have shit relationships in order to not to be alone, they are afraid of being alone and they stay in a relationship with violence, abuse, and shit they don't deserve. Learn how to be alone. Learn how to protect yourself first. If you cant stand the idea of being alone, you wont have a good relationship with anybody.

“never quit” has it’s limits

If it’s something you want, then no, you don’t quit. You keep at it, you do it again and again until you’re better and better and eventually you will be able to do it. 

But if it’s one am, and you’re crying over your biology homework with blurry eyes so you can’t even read anymore, then you quit. You pick up your notebook and you go to bed. You leave while you have the dignity and sense to know when enough is enough, and you come back later. 

Never quit doesn’t mean kill yourself for everything. It means push yourself for some things.

people talk like it's horrible to like the idea of a person more than an actual person. i agree when it gets to the point that you know the person well enough to throw out the idea but i think when you know enough about a person to form an idea, it's perfectly normal to like the idea of a person more than a person themselves. you're going off of the only things you know and those things make you want to know the person more. as long as you try to know the person beyond your ideas then go ahead and fantasize.

just know that if you fantasize for too long, it's your fault at how upset you get when the person turns out to be not what you thought up. you should know that going in. form an idea but be aware youre doing it and do something to make sure you don't need it anymore when youre thinking of that person. be brave and talk to people.
