Honestly Kei is 20 times better as a character than Arata and it pisses me off. Like the flaws Kei displays have consequences, like him acting on impulse jumping to punch Todoroki’s shitty relatives, but when Arata does something impulsive it’s treated as quirky and smart?? Arata does shit for literally no reason like everyone else is good at combat, Kei has literal military experience so okay he can do cool shit, but still he fights like people and for some reason Arata can just do a triple backflip and land on his feet and it fucking irritates me so much???  

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Arata is so badly written he feels like the generic protagonist of an american cop show in which all his flaws have 0 consequences and he can do literally everything for no reason and it pisses me off. Like even when Kei beats his ass for endangering Maiko he’s treated like he’s being treated badly by Kei for fuck’s sake oh my godddd 

Like how do you manage to write a fantastic character and a completely disastrous one into the same anime and have them be bffs oh my god who did this bro oh my goood
