Since I don't see too much of him, may I request a cute first date scenario with Masato?

After a few months of hanging out one-on-one, texting, and the most subtle flirting on the planet, Masato finally worked up the courage to ask you out on a date. He told you not to worry about anything – he was going to plan every detail of your day together, and he was going to make sure it was perfect!

He asks you to meet him at a restaurant you’ve been talking about for a while. It wasn’t particularly fancy or anything, but it was new and popular enough that it was kind of hard to get a table. He waited for you outside, and you can’t help but notice that he dressed up a bit fancier than he usually does.

After exchanging some pleasantries, he holds the door open for you and a waitress escorts you to an empty booth. Masato had made plans quite a while ago, to your surprise.

Once you’re seated, you notice that he’s a little more awkward than usual. You can’t really hold eye contact with him, and the questions he asks you sound a little forced and scripted. The food you ordered arrives, and the conversation dies down a lot.

He’s poking at his dessert when you finally ask him what’s wrong. At first, Masato denies that anything is out of the ordinary, and he looks a bit nervous and asks if you’re not having a good time. You assure him that’s not the case. After a little more prodding, he confesses that he’s been so focused on making sure that everything goes as planned that he’s forgotten to calm down and enjoy himself too. You deserve the best, after all, and he’s determined to do everything by the book!

You push your dessert to the side and reach across the table for his hand, and the shade of red that colors his face is unlike anything you’ve seen before, but it’s just absolutely adorable. You really appreciate the effort he’s gone through to make your date special, but you tell him that any date would be perfect as long as it’s with him.

He places his other hand on top of yours and finally gives you a genuine smile. You’ve been waiting all night to see one of those! He apologizes for worrying you, and after he relaxes your conversations continue as they always have. You laugh in between bites of dessert and once the two of you have finished, Masato pays the bill and escorts you out of the restaurant.

The night has gotten cooler, and Masato wastes no time in draping his blazer over your shoulders. You can tell he’s still a tiny bit nervous, so you take his hand and suggest a walk in the nearby park. The rest of your date only gets easier as the two of you talk the night away.
