How often do you think YInsen’s last words replay in Tony’s head? The man literally saved his life in multiple ways, and was a huge part of, if not THE catalyst that turned him into Iron Man. Like if almost anyone else had been with him, and didn’t not give half of shit that Yinsen did, Tony almost definitely would have died in that cave. The man literally gave his life to give Tony time to power up the Mark 1. Some one else could’ve been like IDK what to do this was YOUR idea fo rmake a fucking suit that I have to us F11 for (who the fuck has ever purposefully used F11 on their computer)
THEN with his literal dying breath: “Don’t waste your life stark”
Literally, I doubt he’s ever forgot it. I wouldn’t be surprised if RDJ uses that moment in his preparation. I couldn’t forget it. I mean he’s definitely thinking about it in the silent scene where he blows out all the glass in his workshop. It’s probably on his mind when he’s 1000000% sure he’s dying in IM2. What about when he flies the nuke into the worm hole? Or when he wakes up in the snow in the middle of nowhere in IM3? Or when he decides to work on Ultron? Civil War? As he decides to keep going into space TO Thanos? The literal monster under his bed?
Do you think he thinks about that now? As he’s drifting through space, hours away from being out of oxygen? Do you think he’s telling Yinsen’s echoing voice that he did all he could? That there’s no way out this time? Do you think that he hopes Yinsen, the man who gave him a second chance at life isn’t disappointed in him?
