That’s hard to say... what counts as a “ship” when you don’t really know about fandom yet and all that... but I remember shipping Legolas/Gimli and Faramir/Eowyn when I first read LotR which might fit the bill.

I get hype backlash much more than I get hyped about it. But I recently finished watching Orphan Black because of hearing good things about it on tumblr in large parts... although I wouldn’t call it a fandom exactly (I mean, I’m not reading fics or anything).

I mean the version I saw is organized better, it’s the same info

but it’s just..  not even on tumblr, and you know sometimes I get super excited to share something with people, and there’s this little rush of omg I don’t think anyone has seen this I need to share!

and hardly anyone notices

and then hours or days later you see it being referenced from somewhere else, and it has a bajillion notes or something.  and it’s just..  I dunno, I kinda deflate when that happens.  because it’s almost always after I was excited to share something.  just kinda brings me back to how I felt when I was a kid in school and was excited about stuff and nobody gave a shit outside of my family.  peer recognition is a big thing to me and I always crave it and I always feel like there’s no way for me to get it and it just feeds into this self hatred and feeling like I’m worthless and my words are worthless and my ideas are worthless.

it’s stupid and I hate that I do this to myself.

EEEP, PLS BE SAFE AND STAY WARM SOMEHOW

I survived going to work and home again today and it's supposed to warm up to 20 tomorrow!  Luckily I basically only have to go to work and back which involves a total of like a minute outside (plus the time for the car heater to warm up which isn't long).
