It was no secret that her father was under the vigilance of the Russian government. So what he had done instead of laying off, was to catch all those whom he suspected that were spying him. He had imprisoned them in the dungeons of his castle like house and had forbidden anyone but him or his men go down there. Yet Agatha was curious and she was ready to find a new hobby, whatever it was to keep her away from her brother.
The files of the men downstairs were easily found. One of them she could tell that was fairly interesting. He wasn't Russian and he had refused to speak unlike the others.
While passing near the door which lead to the dungeons she could hear faint screams. She wondered if they belonged to him. That twisted her stomach. She knew very well what it was to be tortured. Her brother had been so very kind to do that to her regularly. This led her to make a difficult decision; she would help the man.
As a very smart kid she had literally devoured books about basic first aid. She also observed the schedule of the guards and her father. By the end of three weeks she had prepared a small kit -of first aid, food and a small knife for herself in case she needed it-. Right at 6pm, when she knew that the guards would take a break, she sneaked in.
The stairs went on and on. Finding his cell took even longer. Or maybe it seemed so because she kept hearing moans and groans of pain in other cells. Finally when she found his cell, from her pocket she took out the key she had copied.
Agatha closed her eyes. She wasn't only disobeying her father but also risking her life. This was incredibly reckless. The man could be dangerous or if her father found she would be severely punished. Then she remembered her brother. All that he did to her. She opened her eyes. There was no one who would help her. This man deserved the chance and aid she had never had or never would.
The door was heavy but despite that she managed to push it. Quickly she stepped in and closed the door behind her. The lights immediately turned on. In order to torment the victims more the lights would turn on only when the door was opened with the key.
The room smelled of blood and puke. She had not been prepared for the smell yet she managed to look around when she covered her mouth and nose with her arm. The man laid in the middle of the room. Scars and blood all over him.
The young girl approached the grown up with cautiousness. His moving chest was the only sign of him being alive.
"I do not mean to hurt you" she said in her flawless English. "My name is Agatha and I don't want to hurt you" she repeated as she knelt near him. "Can I look at your injuries?" she asked.
